Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our new temporary accommodation service in Radford, Nottingham.

The team inform referral agencies about vacancies and give advice about the suitability of potential referrals. You will interview applicants and complete risk and needs assessments, discussing applications and allocations with the project manager. You will assist with the move-in process, ensuring that new tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities and relevant management procedures. Assist tenants with housing benefit applications and ready to move plans.

Some of your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Notify NCC Housing Aid of voids as they become empty/available/24hrs prior to ready-to-let. 
  • Collate a central waiting-list/prioritise move-ins alongside NCC.
  • Coordinate our in-house Property Services Team to ensure prompt completion of re-let/safety checks to enable the allocation of vacant flats within 4hrs of referral receipt.
  • Liaise with NCC to receive referral forms/Personalised Housing Plans (PHP)
  • Welcome families; providing an in-person/booklet induction to the building covering house-rules/role of HPW/building tour/fire escapes.
  • Create a ‘hub’ approach and allocate time/space for specialist organisations to co-locate/offer in-house sessions to meet individual needs e.g. Health Visitors/Social Workers/Drug/alcohol services
  • Be lead contact with NPRAS to access privately rented move on.

We’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within a care and support environment and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals. They’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families we work with, with top notch communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but we welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferrable skills. Full training will be provided.

Working times

Shift patterns consist of an Early shift: 7:15- 14:25, Late shifts: 13:15-20:45 and Alternate weekends 10-5 on either the Saturday or the Sunday
