Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive Supported living services in Worksop.

We deliver 24/7 support to individuals with Mental health / Learning disabilities, autism and those with behaviours which may challenge

You will be Supporting tenants to express themselves and make informed choices and decisions about their lives in a way that respects their dignity and rights.

What does the role involve?

You will be Devising and implementing individual support plans with risk assessments that are not risk averse. These may include one or more of the following examples:

  • Tenancy Management (including health and safety checks)
  • Living as independently as possible
  • Maintaining a clean and safe living environment
  • Administering medications
  • Accessing work, education or training
  • Enjoying leisure time, activities and cultural beliefs in the community
  • Keeping in touch with family and friends and making new friends
  • Key work named service users
  • Follow and review care and/or support plans with the service user and record progress of plans
  • Maintain service user records through NCHA’s IT systems or paper records and share confidentially with work colleagues and other relevant people as appropriate to provide consistent care and support
  • Assist in the delivery of support to clients who may present behavioural challenges.
  • Maintain Health and Safety records
  • Maintain a safe and healthy physical environment for service users and staff, comply with current infection control policies and procedures and complete relevant H&S training
  • Respond to health and safety issues
  • Implement emergency procedures
  • Responsibility for safeguarding adults and/or children who have needs for care and support, are experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect, and as a result of those needs are unable to protect themselves against the abuse or neglect or the risk of it.

Ideal candidate

The Ideal candidate would be kind and compassionate towards clients and their families. They should be respectful, caring, honest, patient, an active listener, non-judgmental, supportive and have the desire to help participants live their best lives. Providing support and encouragement to develop their skills for independence.

Car driver with full, clean driving licence desirable but not essential. Previous experience of Autism, challenging behaviour, Positive Behaviour support desirable Willingness to provide personal care essential

Having a great sense of humour goes a long way too, and so does a smile.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to walk for some distance supporting individuals out in the community.

Working times

There will be a variety of shifts, which all will be expected to work including weekends, bank holidays and sleep ins. There may also be the need for waking nights.
