Linby Drive supports pregnant individuals and expecting couples with new-born children of up to 6 months of age, providing a temporary accommodation service to prevent homelessness. We support tenants with maintaining their tenancy, accessing benefits to maximise their income and support them with finding their own permanent accommodation, along with tailored support to accommodate their circumstances and needs.

Great Services, Support and Advice is the key

As Housing Project Worker, you will have a variety of duties and responsibilities which will include but are not limited to:

  • Informing referral agencies about vacancies and carry out risk assessments of potential tenants.
  • Assist with the move-in process.
  • Ensure that new tenants are aware of their rights & responsibilities and complete the sign up process with them.
  • Assist tenants with housing benefit applications, repairs reporting, and other tenancy issues. Maintain regular contact with individual tenants and ensure that they keep to the terms of their tenancy agreement.
  • Signpost tenants to agencies that offer support on issues such as health, substance misuse, domestic abuse and mental wellbeing, education and training.
  • Support tenants to set up payment plans for utility bills. Take a lead in the move-on options for tenants: liaise with other landlords and build reports with outside agencies.
  • Make sure that tenants have realistic expectations of their options.
  • Work with internal departments in respect of non-compliance with occupancy agreements, including ASB issues.
  • Carry out H&S, fire and water safety checks.
  • Record keeping is key so you will be expected to use your functional IT skills to update tenancy records and support plans.
  • You will also support with repairs reporting and other tenancy management issues.

What we require

Relevant housing or homelessness experience is desirable. Have experience working in a Customer Service/ Care and Support environment. Great communication skills and compassionate and empathetic nature. Have knowledge of various needs and risks presented by homeless people, and the support services available to them. Be aware of current welfare and housing benefits regulations Knowledge of rehousing options for homeless people. Have an understanding of the needs of people from diverse social/cultural/racial background
