Join Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) as a Peripatetic Registered Manager and help shape services that change lives.

As a peripatetic Registered Manager for NCHA you will bring confident leadership, regulatory expertise and a passion for high-quality care and support to services across the East Midlands.

About the role

As a Peripatetic Registered Manager for NCHA, you will provide high-quality interim management and targeted support across a range of Care & Support services. You may lead a service preparing to open, experiencing management absence, undergoing change or facing operational challenges. At other times, you will work alongside an existing Registered Manager to strengthen performance and help the service achieve its statutory, regulatory and quality objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Take full operational responsibility for an assigned service when a manager is absent because of a vacancy, leave or sickness.
  • Where required, act as Registered Manager with CQC or Ofsted and fulfil the complete duties of the role.
  • Provide hands-on support, coaching and mentoring to new managers and managers experiencing operational issues.
  • Lead, recruit, induct, support and develop colleagues, managing and evaluating performance effectively.
  • Ensure services are safe, well-coordinated, person-centred, compliant and responsive to the needs of the people we support.
  • Maintain strong governance, safeguarding practice, quality assurance and regulatory compliance, using audits and clear improvement plans to raise standards.
  • Meet contractual and statutory requirements and manage designated cost-centre income, expenditure, project finances and service-user finances in line with procedures and regulations.
  • Lead on specific organisational projects, support business growth and oversee the implementation of new services.
  • Participate in the duty manager rota, providing leadership and decision-making support as required.

Please see the attached role profile for more information.

About you

  • You are an experienced, confident care and support leader with strong operational and regulatory knowledge.
  • You will register with CQC and Ofsted where required.
  • You hold, or are willing to work towards, a Level 5 qualification.
  • You can quickly build trust, motivate multidisciplinary teams and lead by example.
  • You are adaptable, solutions-focused and comfortable working across different service types and circumstances.
  • You have a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel across the East Midlands is essential unless a disability precludes this.

Please note: This position is subject to a Fit and Proper Persons Test and enhanced DBS with barred lists at NCHA’s cost.

Reporting and support

You will be managed by the Head of Care & Support and will report to the Operations Manager responsible for the service you are supporting at the time. You can expect to receive full training and development and will be supported by an experienced management team.
