The Service

Lyttleton Road provides supported living services for up to 10 individuals in Northampton town. We work alongside people with a variety of needs including learning disabilities, and autism, or other physical disabilities. People are encouraged and supported to develop the skills they need for leading a more independent and fulfilling life. Each resident has a person-centred support plan developed with their involvement, focusing on their strengths and encouraging them to change their lives for the better.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will develop, review, and regularly update person-centred support plans, ensuring they accurately reflect each individual’s needs, preferences, and outcomes. Colleagues support our residents living at Lyttleton Road to ensure their assessed needs are met, including support with activities of daily living. This may involve assistance with personal care, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and accessing and engaging in community activities. Support Workers also provide emotional reassurance and wellbeing support as required and make appropriate referrals to specialist services when additional support is needed. You’ll be required to complete accurate, timely, and detailed support notes, clearly recording the support delivered and the outcomes achieved. In addition, staff complete a range of administrative tasks to ensure compliance with CQC regulations, organisational policies, and statutory requirements.

Please note that due to the needs of the customers, there may be an element of moving and handling involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties.

Please refer to the role profile for a more information.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be caring, enthusiasticresilient, and resourceful. You should have great communication skills and be committed to achieving the best outcomes for our services users; this means you should be reliable, flexible, and willing to go the extra mile. You must have the ability to read, follow and record written instructions correctly, basic IT skills, willingness to learn and adhere to confidentiality, and willingness to learn how to deal with challenging situations. Although the role can be challenging at times, the training and support we provide will ensure that you are well equipped and confident to hit the ground running.

Working Hours

All successful candidates will be required to work on a rota basis over a 24-hour period including weekends, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year. Shifts patterns include early shifts, mid shifts and late shifts, with early shifts from 7:00 to 14:30, late shifts from 14:30 to 22:00, and waking nights from 22:00 to 07:00 across 7 days a week.
