The Role

As our new Project Manager – Housing Development, you’ll play a key part in delivering development schemes that support NCHA’s strategic objectives. From acquiring land to coordinating project teams, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with Homes England standards, you’ll oversee projects from concept to completion.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and progressing development projects in line with NCHA policies and procedures.
  • Negotiating with landowners, developers, statutory authorities and external partners.
  • Preparing project briefs and establishing multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Leading on lender‑ready folders, ensuring legal, technical and financial documentation is accurate and accessible.
  • Ensuring compliance with Homes England standards, funding conditions and audit requirements.
  • Managing scheme capital budgets and contributing to programme and cashflow planning.
  • Representing NCHA at external meetings and building positive relationships with local authorities, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Promoting efficient ways of working and contributing to continuous improvement.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential or commercial property development. You will bring strong technical knowledge (which you will keep up to date), excellent stakeholder skills and a passion for delivering great homes. You’ll be able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and communicate confidently with a wide range of partners. You must hold a degree and/or a relevant professional qualification.

With a proven track record of successful project delivery, you will have current knowledge issues relating to housing development, as well as an understanding of the needs of people from diverse social, cultural and racial backgrounds. At NCHA, our customers are at the heart of everything we do.

Please note a driving licence and access to a vehicle is a requirement for this role unless a disability precludes this.

 

Working Hours

Full‑time hours apply, Monday to Friday, with regular travel required for site visits and external meetings. This role follows a partially agile working model, offering a blend of office, site and home‑based work to support flexibility and work‑life balance, with an expectation that 3 days are worked from an NCHA office. Our Head Office is based in Clifton, Nottingham.
