You heard it here first - Our Housing Development team have an exciting opportunity to join us as Development Project Manager.

NCHA is listed in the top 50 developing RPs in the country developing a programme of affordable housing using Homes England funding. The Development team is responsible for this delivery managing a programme of varied developments from rural areas through to larger city sites.

NCHA develops in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. We are looking for a Project Manager to join the team who will be responsible for their own portfolio of schemes. The Project Manager will be responsible for the schemes from initial legal negotiation, through onsite development to final handovers.

The role:

The Project Manager is responsible for running a selection of development projects whilst leading a team of consultants and contractors to build out affordable housing both for rented and shared ownership.

The project manager will be expected to run their own portfolio of varied schemes. You will be responsible for the scheme from feasibility, working through ideas and getting a viable scheme through the delivery of the scheme, working with a project team, to final delivery. Over time Project Managers will also be invited to get involved with specialist schemes, either for particular client or higher spec for environmental impact and client work as a development agent. 

The Project Manager will attend all site meetings monitoring all aspects of the scheme. The Project Manager will set up handovers and manage transfer of the final properties through to housing management. Project Managers are responsible for updating systems within NCHA to report on the progress of their schemes as part of programme management and communication with Homes England.

Ideal Candidate:

You will have experience in building industry and Housing development. You must have an understanding of development of affordable housing and how a project runs, ideally with some successful experience.

We are looking for someone proactive with a great track record of delivering projects. Educated to degree level/or relevant professional qualification with current knowledge of building development processes, you will demonstrate outstanding project management.

Your problem solving abilities, excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills will be invaluable. You will also be familiar with the use of Microsoft spreadsheets, databases and other IT applications to retrieve and manipulate complex data.

This post carries 35 hours per week

The Development Department recognises that the role involves travelling, attending site meetings as needed and internal NCHA meetings. We operate an agile working system where the Project Manager will manage their work schedule in line with expectations of the role. The Development Department expects all team members to be in the office at least 50% of their working time, with particular encouragement on Thursdays.

A valid driving licence and access to a car is essential as you will be required to cover projects in the East Midlands and attend external stakeholder and building site meetings
