Free Care Course with guaranteed interview

Salary: £17,495 - £19,568 per annum pro rata
Location: Nottingham
Hours: up to 37hrs including bank hours

We have an opportunity for you to get into work!

NCHA is looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and positive thinking job seekers who are new to Social Care to take part in our Sector Based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) being run in partnership with Access Training in Nottingham City.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be in receipt of either Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). You will continue to receive benefits whilst taking part in the SWAP and you may be able to receive help covering the cost of public transport to the programme or appropriate childcare.
  • Basic numeracy & literacy skills
  • Be willing and able to deliver personal care
  • Be willing and able to undertake moving and handling duties
  • Be double vaccinated and be able to provide evidence of your vaccination status

What would the two-week programme entail?

The programme will run from 12 to 23 September 2022 and will give you the opportunity to learn new skills and get experience of working in Social Care. You will be supported to gain a Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills and Level 1 in Preparing to Work in Social Care. You will also be supported to complete an application form and to prepare for interviews.

At the end of the 2 weeks, you will be guaranteed an interview and made a conditional offer for the position of a Care Assistant or Support Worker in one of our many projects in Nottingham City, easily accessible by public transport if you’re successful in the interview. There will also be the option to undertake a level 2 or 3 Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care if you wish to whilst in employment with us.
